This is a reminder that the Summit Academy of Music will be hosting a student recital on November 16th at 4pm!
Here are the details:
Time: Saturday, November 16th, at 4:00 PM
Place: Fletcher United Methodist Church, 50 Library Road, Fletcher NC 28732
Your child should be doing a practice performance of his or her piece at least every other day in preparation for this event. Please talk to us if you have any questions at all about preparation for the recital.
Performers should arrive at least 45-60 mins prior to the start time in order to get acquainted with the piano and try out the stage. If possible, have one caregiver bring the child for the warm up rather than the entire family.
I know that dress code has been a bit relaxed in the past, but I think it's important that our young performers be dressed at least a bit better than their audience. Dresses or skirts at or below knee length or button down shirts and slacks are the preferred attire for a formal recital.
All performers - whether they play rock and roll or classical music - make costuming decisions prior to a performance. The choice to wear a T-shirt and jeans would be a conscious one as would be the choice to wear a tuxedo, taking into account not just the music being performed, but also the venue and the audience.
Please contact us if you have any questions. Looking forward to another beautiful recital!
